Jackie Chan in MR NICE GUY - Cathay Pacific AIR TICKETS to HONG KONG

Back in 1997, I won a first prize from this e-zine ( Entertainment news on cd-rom )

which was rather popular at that time. Instead of printed materials, the folder came with a Cd-Rom which contains the latest news, gossip, trailers and contests. One of the contest on that issue was from the movie Mr Nice Guy, starred by our famous Jackie Chan. The 1st prize in that contest was a pair of air tickets sponsored by the airliner cathay pacific from Singapore to Hong Kong. 

I remember  the cost  for One air ticket at the time was roughly about Four hundred sing dollars

After waiting in vain for weeks for the prize sponsor to contact me, I approached the publisher (which was SPH)  to assist me in contacting them.  I received a call from cathay pacific after a few days and the lady who was on the other line called me had a very bad attitude and told me that the person in charge of the promotion had already resigned and she did not know anything about this. 

How could this be possible ?!  I insisted on her to find out what happened and to contact me if there is any news and updates but in the end, no call came and despite me making calls after calls to her she was always not around.  Obviously she was avoiding me.  I cannot imagine that Cathay pacific , being one of the largest airliner in the world would somehow forfeited me . Such disappointment. 

In the end, I gave up contacting her and to my surprise ,  a lady who was from the publisher Wiz

(she was very apologetic) knew about this and offered me movie posters, movie stuffs and premiums as a compensation.  I really appreciate her kind gestures. Thanks alot :)

As for cathay pacific......baaaaahhhh 

I would prefer Singapore Airlines anytime .

Mission Impossible iii Gala Premiere

This a Gala Premiere Invitation ticket to the movie Mission Impossible 3.  It was only given to

certain specific customers who bought the then popular handphone Nokia set. Enjoyed the party very much as there were free flow of snacks and drinks. Why can't we have more of this nowadays.  Maybe because more and more people are watching movies online rather than going to the cinemas and the distributor therefore did not want to incur additional promotional costs.  For me, I'm old school. No doubt I watched a lot of movies online but those are shows which I already watched in cinemas. The experience is just different.  

This time, Ethan Hunt ( Tom Cuise ) most deadly enemy, arms dealer Owen Davian kidnapped his wife to Shanghai and blackmailed Ethan to steal a powerul weapon. I remembered before this movie was shown, it created quite an uproar in China as  parts of the pics portrayed  some sort of  "backward country".  Hence the movie was ordered to " put on hold " and as a result  delayed for months.

Mission Impossible Limited Edition Metal Pin

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE ????   One of the classics of all time and so is the movie.

Released in 1996, this movie starred Tom Cruise as an agent who was framed after his colleagues were killed in a mission and tried all means to get the real culprit and clear his name. Nothing much needs to be said as I think most of you have watched the show.

What I got here is a MI pin which came with the CD soundtract I bought at that time. Cant really find the CD now thou ( guess it's lying somewhere with other CDs ) but the most important thing is the pin right.

War Of the Worlds Limited Edition Cap and Shirt wear

Directed by Steven Spielberg , this 2005 action/sci-fic movie stars Tom Cruise as a very normal person ( you have to forget his Mission Impossible role ) working as a crane operator. Divorced and unable to communicate well with his son and daughter, the action start when Martians attacked Earth. Initially, I did not really like this movie because I expect alot of aliens running around zapping earthlings ( ya, I know.....Mars attack ). But after watching the second time,I appreciate it better as it shows the love of the father for his childrens.

When this movie was shown in 2005, it reminds me of the good old days when I watched the 1953 version of "The War Of The Worlds" in a public library. ..... Errr,,, no, I am not that old, the show was already a few decades old when I watched .

The picture shows a cap and a T shirt which I won during "Another" magazine contest although I cant remember whether it comes with the poster or not.

Terminator 3 - Rise of The Machines (2003) Action Figurines

Since Arnie the Terminator said " I'll be back ", it took him more than ten years. And what a COMEBACK !!!

The addition of Kristanna Loken as T-X, the new advance terminator is a wonderful idea. Who would have see it coming at that time !!! With her cool looks and sexy bods (pardon me), it really adds more bang on the already exciting installment.

These figurines came with the DVD Gift Box Set which I bought when it was released.

Hmmm, think I will take a look at ebay and see if they have the Arnie Terminator saying " I'LL BE BACK, I'LL BE BACK, I'LL BE BACK........................"

KING KONG (2005) Multi colours Watch

Directed by Academy Award winning director Peter Jackson (LOTR), this spectacular movie with solid special effects and heartpounding actions is really a joy to watch and at the same time it brings back memories of the 1976 version.

Back then of course the effects cannot be compared but still it's a classic of it's own.

I got these cute little digi watches from a joint promotion between Kellog's and Universal Studio's back then when the movie hit shores.

Surprisingly the batteries are still working and "clock's ticking" after almost 4 years :)

Charlie Angels 2 (FULL THROTTLE) Motor Bike

Got this bike when the dvd's hit the stores promoting
the movie.

What more can I say, Hot Bods and Nice bike.

This summer, the Angels are back.......
with me riding this beautiful bike and exploring
the coast. Whooooooo.......the 4 of us : )

Hmmmm, now let me think how to cramp the FOUR
of us onto the bike.

Night Watch Creepy Crawler Figurine

Night watch is a Russian Production in 2004.

Generally speaking, this is the 1st part of a trilogy

whch follows by Day Watch and twilight Watch.

And No, I have yet to watch all 3 parts of it thou

I remember the reviews for Night Watch is very

good and is one of the biggest blockbuster in the

history of Russia Movies.

Looking at the picture I believe you should know what the movie is talking, looks creepy eh??!!!

There is a white turning knob on the left side of the doll which when "turn on "......errrr ......No , I don't mean the doll gets " turn on " when you turn on but errr... nvrm.... Anyway, the cute little doll will crawl around ( on wheels below lol ).

StarShip Troopers (1997) Mouse Pad

Adding this Starship Troopers mousepad into my collections which comes with a pair of free movie preview tickets. Also one of the best sci-fi movie that I like but subsequently the next few sequels

 was a disappointment.  However, I got a surprise just days ago before I update this post(2017).  I stumbled upon the Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars  animated version , which is a sequel to the 2012 Starship Troopers : Invasion the 4th instalment.  I would recommend you to watch it if you like sci-fic/ alien kind of movie. You will not be disappointed in this one.

In the not so soon future, mother Earth is at war with a race of giant alien insects. Not much is known about these killer Bugs except that they are intending on wiping out all human lifes.  The militia world government decided to send a Mobile Infantry troop which travels to the alien planets to take the war to the Bugs. They have only one mission: Survival of their species no matter what the cost...
