Finally, this is it. I am able to watch MJ "live" in a theatre. Well, sort of anyway. The last time when MJ was here, I missed my chance of meeting him in concert. That, I can say my friend, one of my deepest regret. There are some saying about why this show ( rehearsal ) was shown in cinemas. Some says that it is to show that MJ is still healthy and energetic ( during the rehearsal, which looks like it ) and some says that it is for monetary gains for the movie companies or some other reasons which I may not known of. But to me, all these are not important. The most important thing about this show to me, the message that it conveys across, allows me to forever remember MJ as a nice person, a warm person, a genius in his field of work, also funny at times, a man of confidence, energetic and very very much passionate in his performance for the audience. Thank You for the Memories Michael. I Will Miss You.

Back in 1997, I won a first prize from this e-zine ( entertainment news on cd-rom )

which was rather popular at that time. Instead of printed materials, the folder comes with a cd-rom which contains the latest news, gossip,trailers and contests. One of the contest was the movie Mr Nice Guy, starred by our famous Jackie Chan in which the 1st prize was a pair of air tickets by cathay pacific to Hong Kong. At that time I remember the prize for One ticket is roughly about Four hundred plus SGD. However

after waiting for weeks for Cathay Pacific, which there wasn't, I approached the publisher to assist me in contacting them as well. I received a call from cathay pacific and the lady who called me had a very bad attitude and told me that the person in charge of the promotion had already resigned and she did not know anything about this. I insist on her to find out what happened and to contact me if there is any news but in the end, no call was forthcoming and despite making various calls to her she was always not around.

In the end, I gave up contacting her and surprisingly the lady who was from the publisher Wiz

( she was very apologetic ) and offer me movie posters, stuffs and premiums.

( She knew I am a movie buff and a collector of premiums )

Really appreciate her kind gestures. Thanks alot :)

As for cathay pacific, well let's just say that it is not the only airliner to Hong Kong or any other countries.

SIA is still the best.

Seven Swords - Postcards and Calendar

Seven Swords the movie is adapted from a novel by a novelist Liang Yusheng who was a grandmaster in the modern wuxia ( swordfighting ) fiction genre. When he passed away at the age of 84 he had already wrote 35 wuxia novels in 160 volumes and many of his novels were adapted into serials. This 2005 movie adapted by Tsui Hark starring Donnie Yen and Leon Lai.

I felt very sad when I heard the news that the novelist had passed away, but I can proudly say that I have read ALL his wuxia novels and to me he is a great master in the art of writing.

I won these sets of postcards, notebook, a poster and a lightscribe dvd disc when I patronise the Eng Wah cinema for the movie. Although I was happy that I won, the prize collection experience was somewhat very frustrating. I remembered collecting the prizes from the Eng Wah office after I was notified of the winning. Upon reaching the venue, the receptionist gave me a cold look and ask me what do I want. After telling her that I am here for the prize she gave me an impatient look and ask coldly : " Your IC ", ( which is identily card in our context) Mind you, all these while she did not look at me and was still scribbling away.

With trembling hands I passed my IC to her ( not that I am afraid of course, I am trembling because I am refraining myself very hard from landing HER face on MY FIST !!!) I do not want to be on the 1st page of the paper the next day which says - " Recep face deformed by prize collector ". $#%&$!!!!

Anyway, the process was not very happy and I was wondering how could Eng Wah, such a big entertainment company allows the recep to have such an attitute like this. Needless to say, from that day onwards I spent my money at other cinema lines.

Above is a preview ticket to the movie Mission Impossible 3. This time, Ethan Hunt ( Tom Cuise ) most deadly enemy, arms dealer Owen Davian kidnapped his wife to Shanghai and blackmailed Ethan to steal a powerul weapon. I remembered before this movie was shown, it created quite an uproar in China as parts of the pics portrayed some sort of "backward country".

Hence the movie was ordered to " put on hold " and as a result delayed for months.

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE ???? One of the classics of all time and so is the movie.

Released in 1996, this movie starred Tom Cruise as a agent was framed after his colleagues were killed in a mission and try all means to get the real culprit and clear his name. Nothing much needs to be said as I think most of you have watched the show.

What I got here is a MI pin which came with the CD soundtract I bought at that time. Cant really find the CD now thou ( guess it's lying somewhere with other CDs ) but the most important thing is the pin right ???

Initial D is a chinese movie adapted from manga

(Japanese comics,cartoons).

The movie is based on the world of illegal Japanese street racing but not in cities nor urban areas. It actually happens in the moutain passes and curves and that is where the drifting comes in. Basically, the story is centered around the kanto area and their surrounding cities which all the shooting took place too.

Jay Chou 周杰倫, is a taiwanese Taiwanese musician, singer, producer, actor and director who has won the World Music Award four times. Besides being well-known for composing all his own songs, he writes for other singers as well.

What you see here is part of the prize from the movie Initial D contest which consists of Tshirt, calendar, notebook, umbrella, poster and backpack.

Posting this two items really make me feel very very excited. The reason ?? I simply love this movie very much and much and much :) There are quite a number of remake for V and frankly speaking, if my memory hasn't failed me yet. this 2005 V comic adapted movie should be the first time I watched.

Can anyone tell me how many mini-torch there are from the picture : ) And No, you won't get it even if you answer correctly...haha.

Fantastic Four - Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007) Mousepad

This is a mousepad from the Fantastic 4 movies - Rise of the Silver Surfer.

Finally in this part the F4 knows that they are not the only one who is equipped with super powers and that they are of "amatuer" level as compared to the silver surfer. It's funny that some of the comments were not that good for this instalment. IMO, the effects is alot better especially with the introduction the the silver surfer. Cool graphic effects and with the "switching" of powers among the F4, there are some "comedic" moments which make this movie an enjoyable one.

War Of the Worlds Limited Edition Cap and Shirt wear

Directed by Steven Spielberg , this 2005 action/sci-fic movie stars Tom Cruise as a very normal person ( you have to forget his Mission Impossible role ) working as a crane operator. Divorced and unable to communicate well with his son and daughter, the action start when Martians attacked Earth. Initially, I did not really like this movie because I expect alot of aliens running around zapping earthlings ( ya, I know.....Mars attack ). But after watching the second time,I appreciate it better as it shows the love of the father for his childrens.

When this movie was shown in 2005, it reminds me of the good old days when I watched the 1953 version of "The War Of The Worlds" in a public library. ..... Errr,,, no, I am not that old, the show was already a few decades old when I watched .

The picture shows a cap and a T shirt which I won during "Another" magazine contest although I cant remember whether it comes with the poster or not.

National Treasure Compass , Cards and keychain

This 2004 action cum adventure movie starred Nicolas Cage as a treasure hunter searching for, well, treasure which had been lost since centuries ago. IMO, this movie only worth 2.5 out of 5 stars. Nothing much to talk about regarding the actions as well as the acting. The only thing that is a little bit iteresting is the riddle solving...... which reminds me of " RIDDLE ME THIS, RIDDLE ME THAT ... : )

Anyway, I got this little prize from a little contest

(as usual) that includes a National Treasure card, compass and a keychain.

Won thru' a magazine contest, the Must Love Dogs prize items thou simple, is a Ego booster. One would definitely feel proud if he/she wears the cap, put on the Tee's and carry the bag to walk the dog in the park.

About this movie, to be fair, I cannot give any comment on it because I missed it.

Think I will get the DVD later :)

Anyway, this 2005 romance + comedy should be able to appeal to any dog lovers. Maybe you should "grab" your dog and watch it with you : )

Final Destination 3 Cap and cool Shirt

I cannot actually recall watching the 1st and 2nd part of the Final Destination movies. Thou if my memory hasn't fail me yet, I think think I should have watched the 2nd, 3rd and the recent 4th part of the franchise.

I can only say that the 3rd FD leaves quite a deep impression on me. Very "entertaining" from the build up to the death of the actors one by one. As for the 4th part which I watched 2 weeks ago really really really is a big big disappoinment. I felt cheated of my money.

Anyway, the pics show a FD cap and a long sleeve round neck shirt which I won during the FD3 promos. I like the shirt very much but then erm,,,,,,, I don't think I would want to wear this for any roller coaster ride :0

Gala Premiere Tickets- Fantastic four

What you see on the right is the ticket to the Gala Premiere for Fantastic Four, on 29 June 2005 at the Golden Village Leisureplex. It was held by Samsung promoting one of their handphone series thou my tickets was won through a magazine contest. The Gala Premiere was one of the grandest that I have attended. Beside finger foods, champagne was also provided, free flow. I cannot recall how much I drank but should be about 5 glasses :)

The highlight before the show started was the introduction of the 4 characters in the movie portray by 3 handsome dudes and a beautiful lady ( The Invisible Woman ). Too bad I cannot find the photos which was taken back then ( using a camera phone ) or else I would be able to upload some of it.

Overall, the Gala Premiere was held like a party and the organiser did a wonderful job. Credits to them.

What I have here is the Fantastic Four FM radio.

Released in year 2005, this is the 1st instalment of the two (Fantastic 4 - Rise Of The Silver Surfer).

During one of the mission, the F4 team was hit by a space storm and suddenly find themselves "radiated" with special powers which messed up their normal lives real good. Well, thou The F4 team consists of Mr. Fantastic, The Invisible Woman, The Human Torch and The Thing, the one which leave a deep impression on me is none other than,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

The Invisible Woman, played by Jessica Alba.

"Wrapped" in a sexy blue tight outfit, she sure looks good.

Since Arnie the Terminator said " I'll be back ", it took him more than ten years. And what a COMEBACK !!!

The addition of Kristanna Loken as T-X, the new advance terminator is a wonderful idea. Who would have see it coming at that time !!! With her cool looks and sexy bods (pardon me), it really adds more bang on the already exciting installment.

These figurines came with the DVD Gift Box Set which I bought when it was released.

Hmmm, think I will take a look at ebay and see if they have the Arnie Terminator saying " I'LL BE BACK, I'LL BE BACK, I'LL BE BACK........................"

KING KONG (2005) Multi colours Watch

Directed by Academy Award winning director Peter Jackson (LOTR), this spectacular movie with solid special effects and heartpounding actions is really a joy to watch and at the same time it brings back memories of the 1976 version.

Back then of course the effects cannot be compared but still it's a classic of it's own.

I got these cute little digi watches from a joint promotion between Kellog's and Universal Studio's back then when the movie hit shores.

Surprisingly the batteries are still working and "clock's ticking" after almost 4 years :)

This cute little keychain comes with some other

premiums in a VOLCANO bundle. But I couldn't

find it at this moment ( shd be hiding in some other

cartons ). The red colour lava lookalike will create

patterns within the yellow liquid if you shake the keychain.

Released in 1997, this movie is about a volcano erupting in L.A.

One of the many volcano disaster movies that was released during that year.

StarShip Troopers (1997) Mouse Pad

One of My favourite mousepad and as

usual I never used it before, cant bear to.

The Starship Troopers of 1997, the 1st part.

Frankly speaking I cannot recall whether I won

or bought this piece. Neber Mind, lol.

The 1st part is the BEST and also the only

one worth watching. The rest is crap IMO.

Fast paced and Action Pack ( especially the

last hour ) this movie really provides fantastic

entertainment value. CHAARRGE !!!

Star Trek - First Contact (1996 ) Key Chain

This sparkling, metallic keychain for "First Contact"
is one of my favourites. It feels heavy too and gives
a very solid kind of feel. Beam Me Up Scotty !!!!!!!

Star Trek is one of the most successful movie
franchise in history. Having said that I have
to admit... I am more of a Star Wars fan than
trekkie. However, this " first Contact" make
me relook and appreciate Star Trek in a very
different manner. All because of the humanity
spirit that comes along with the movie :)
IMO, FIRST CONTACT is the Best Star Trek film
I have watched over the years.

One of my favourite movie. The Mars Attack from 1996 is

a funny and quirky science fic comedy with big cast like

Jack Nicholson, Glenn Close and Pierce Brosnan. The frisbee

shown above was sealed nicely until today, which in order to

take better picture of it, I took the wrapper off....... sadly

and unreluctantly. Another Mars Attack item with me is

the International Release Poster with lots of martian heads,

think most of you have seen it before. Will post later :)

theatres.Reviews for the movie was not that good if I

can remember but I myself like it alot. I actually cannot

remember whether I have the poster or not....hmmm.
